What’s the definition of cannabis? Cannabis refers to a group of three plants with psychoactive properties, known as  Cannabis sativa ,  Cannabis indica , and  Cannabis ruderalis . When the flowers of these plants are harvested and dried, you’re left with one of the most common drugs in the world. Some call it weed, some call it pot, and others call it marijuana. As weed becomes legal in more areas, names for it are evolving. Today, more and more people are using the term cannabis to refer to weed. Some argue that it’s a more accurate name. Others feel it’s more neutral compared with terms like weed or pot, which some people associate with its illegal use. Also, the term “marijuana” is falling out of favor due to its  racist history . Cannabis is usually consumed for its relaxing and calming effects. Its campaign to plug the holes is apparently extending to threats of legal action, as the leaker known as “Kang”  posted to Weibo  this week about a notice he received from the company (via  MacRumors ). Kang currently holds the   number one spot on the AppleTrack leaderboard , which attempts to compare the reliability of the information various leakers share, and   AppleTrack indicates  that other leakers have received similar messages. Cells contain machinery that duplicates DNA into a new set that goes into a newly formed cell. That same class of machines, called polymerases, also build RNA messages, which are like notes copied from the central DNA repository of recipes, so they can be read more efficiently into proteins. But polymerases were thought to only work in one direction DNA into DNA or RNA. This prevents RNA messages from being rewritten back into the master recipe book of genomic DNA.
