Cells contain machinery that duplicates DNA into a new set that goes into a newly formed cell. That same class of machines, called polymerases, also build RNA messages, which are like notes copied from the central DNA repository of recipes, so they can be read more efficiently into proteins. But polymerases were thought to only work in one direction DNA into DNA or RNA. This prevents RNA messages from being rewritten back into the master recipe book of genomic DNA. The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has further educated Nigerians on the benefits of the controversial Fifth Generation mobile network, 5G, to their lives, business, economy and general wellbeing. The Commission said that the country cannot run away from the 5G while the rest of the world is leaving it behind. The NCC, in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday, said it was working with various stakeholders currently towards developing a policy document that will provide guidance and policy direction for 5G deployment in the country, adding that, “We have moved from 0% to 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G. Hackers released files related to legal work for Lady Gaga The hackers who targeted a top-flight entertainment law firm have released documents purporting to pertain to Lady Gaga, after doubling their ransom request to $42 million.   ADVERTISEMENT Notorious hacker group 'REvil', allegedly from Eastern Europe, are said to have stolen private emails, contracts and personal details from New York-based entertainment law firm Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks.   Now, after their ransom demands were rebuffed, the hackers have published on their dark web site a 2.4-gigabyte folder including legal work the law firm did for Lady Gaga. The files appear to be mostly standard music industry documents and tedious paperwork. Dr Osagie Ehanire, Nigeria's Minister of Health, has disclosed the drug used to treat COVID-19 patients in Nigeria. Addressing members of the House of Representatives today Tuesday May 5, Ehanire said Remdesivir is being used to treat patients with the virus. “We have been using that (Remdesivir); we have tried that in Lagos too. So, we have tried the antiretroviral drug to see what effect it has” he said The Minister said the drug which was originally developed as a potential treatment for Ebola, is one of the options which Nigeria has adopted for in treating COVID-19 patients. Remdesivir was tested in 1,063 hospitalized Coronavirus patients around the world and has proven to reduce the time it takes patients to recover by 31%. 11 days on average versus 15 days for those just given usual care.
